Soloist Seraphim Afflick and M.C. David Afflick present an online concert via YouTube as a fundraising benefit for the Players, in partnership with Concord Community Music School (CCMS). The concert was pre-recorded at CCMS, thanks to the talents of Ryan James McKerley with McKerley’s Quality Creations.
David was given his first-ever acting opportunity in the Players’ 2011 production of Harvey. He got hooked on theatre, and has since become a professional actor.
Seraphim and David met during the 2014 production of the musical 9 to 5, in which Seraphim played the lead role of Doralee Rhodes (made famous by Dolly Parton). David wasn’t planning to audition (“I don’t do musicals!”) but was fortunately talked into giving it a try. “I never imagined I would meet the love of my life doing a play,” says Seraphim. “But I did! Which makes the name of our benefit — Love Is in the Air — so fitting.”
The program features show tunes celebrating love, friendship and relationships. If you didn’t catch it for Valentine’s Day, the show is still available on YouTube. Access is free; donations will be accepted.
