It’s 1997 in Buffalo, NY.  The recession has shut down the steel mills, real estate values are dropping, and people are leaving by the tens of thousands.  The men left behind are unemployed, disenfranchised, scrap.  Proud, strong and solitary, they are reluctant to accept ordinary jobs.  Their wives have found work but struggle to deal with the bills and the husbands who, in their eyes, are failing.

When Jerry Lukowski learns his ex-wife is suing for sole custody of their son for lack of support and that she and her friends are paying $50 a pop to watch The Chippendales perform at a local club, he gets the hair-brained scheme to gather together some of his buddies to do the same, make a bundle and give the women what they really want to see: real men and The Full Monty.  What the men learn about themselves, their partners and each other through their effort to strip is the heart of this funny, moving and energizing musical.

Recommended for mature audiences.
