THE COMMUNITY PLAYERS OF CONCORD, NH ANNOUNCE
ADDITIONAL AUDITIONS FOR TWO ROLES FOR “TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD”
AND
AUDITIONS FOR “COME FROM AWAY”
By Christopher Sergel, adapted from the novel by Harper Lee
Directed by Elizabeth Lent
Adapted from the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, To Kill a Mockingbird opens in a sleepy Alabama town in the midst of the Great Depression. Reminiscent of a bygone era, the play immerses us in a simpler time, however, the facade of the seemingly peaceful town begins to crack when a young black man is accused of a terrible crime. Driven by an unshakeable moral conviction, local lawyer Atticus Finch defends the man in a trial that sends violent waves through the community. Timeless and lingering, this hard-hitting work explores prejudice, compassion and the courage to do what is right.
Please Note – This production includes racially charged language and a false accusation of sexual assault which will not be altered in any way.
Still Auditioning For:
Reverend Sykes – Any Age – Black minister of the First Purchase Church. An imposing man with a strong presence.
Tom Robinson – Reads 20’s 30’s – Black handsome and vital with a left hand crippled by a childhood accident. Falsely accused of rape.
Rehearsal Schedule – Generally three to four nights per week from March until the production weekend. There will be limited weekend commitments until the last two weekends of the production schedule ending May 3. The entire schedule will be available closer to the production.
If interested in either of these roles, please reach out to Betty Lent, Director with any questions or to schedule an audition time at [email protected]

Book, Music, and Lyrics by
IRENE SANKOFF and DAVID HEIN
Directed by Betsey Cox-Buteau
Come From Away is a critically acclaimed musical featuring a culturally relevant script accompanied by a deeply moving score by Irene Sankoff and David Hein. The show has earned global success with 37 award nominations, 13 of which resulted in wins, most notably Best New Musical at the 2019 Olivier Awards and Outstanding Musical at the 2017 Drama Desk Awards. The show’s global presence resonates across all audiences as an uplifting reminder of humanity’s ability to come together, no matter what the circumstances.
Come From Away is based on the true story of the time when the isolated community of Gander, Newfoundland, played host to the world. What started as an average day in a small town turned into an international sleepover, when 38 planes, carrying thousands of people from around the globe, were diverted to Gander’s airstrip on September 11, 2001. Undaunted by culture clashes and language barriers, the people of Gander cheered the stranded travelers with music, an open bar and the recognition that we’re all part of a global family.
