The Community Players of Concord, NH

CHILDREN’S THEATRE PROJECT

is pleased to offer our annual SUMMER THEATRE CAMP:

A courtroom has never been more lively and fun than in The Big Bad Musical!  In this smart and wickedly funny musical, the jury — your audience — must decide the outcome of the biggest trial ever in the fairy-tale world!  The notorious Big Bad Wolf is being slapped with a class-action lawsuit by Little Red Riding Hood, her Grandmother, the Three Little Pigs, and the Shepherd in charge of the Boy Who Cried Wolf.  With Sydney Grimm as the commentator on live Court TV, the two greatest legal minds in the Enchanted Forest — the Evil Stepmother and the Fairy Godmother — clash in a trial that will be remembered forever after.

Director: Karen Braz

Music Director: Tony Bonjorno

Choreographer:  Robyn Waldron

When/Where:  Camp will run from Sunday, August 2 to Friday, August 7 at the Players’ Studio and the Concord City Auditorium.

Auditions for actors interested in being considered for a specific role in The Big Bad Musical will be held at the Players’ Studio, 435 Josiah Bartlett Road, Concord, NH, at a date and time in July to be announced.  Details about the auditions will be sent to parents/campers after registration is closed.

NOTE: No camper is required to audition; all will be cast/have a role in the show!!  But we would like to see everyone at auditions, in groups, to sing and dance!

Sunday, August 2 —  At the Players’ Studio, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm

Monday to Thursday, August 3-6 — At the Players’ Studio, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm

Friday, August 7 —  We are at the Concord City Auditorium, 2 Prince Street, Concord, NH, all day!  First, tech and dress rehearsals, then pizza party for cast and crew, and finally, at 6:30 pm, we perform for family and friends!!! Then we move out of the Audi and go back to the Studio to put everything away!

Who: Young actors ages 8 to 14 years old of all experience levels.

What: Our theatre camp offers young people the chance to work on their musical theatre performance skills — singing, acting, and dancing — as we rehearse The Big Bad Musical each day.  Then we move to the City Auditorium for the final day of preparing our show for a performance free of charge that evening for family and friends!  (But all are welcome to donate!)

Cost: $215.00 (Note: Financial assistance is available through the Jakob Murray Lange Memorial Scholarship Fund.)
